Writing a composition from scratch isn’t easy. Students struggle to apply literary techniques and phrases into their writing, or they apply it incorrectly.
This is usually because these techniques and phrases are taught in isolation, and students try to apply them word-for-word into their composition. Sometimes, the students hope they can earn a few marks by using a good vocabulary phrase they had memorised — however, that is often not the case.
Hence, we use our 2A method — Analysing and Applying. Find out more about how we teach and mark our compositions in TAS here.
